Research Analyst – Cybersecurity

Full Job Description

Responsibilities

· Writing research-based content for proprietary content pieces, focusing on cybersecurity incidents, threats, threat-actors, trends, and techniques.

· Conducting Expert interviews for unique perspectives to incorporate into proprietary content pieces or in response to specific client inquiries.

· Leveraging proprietary tools, insight, and data to create proactive touch-points for clients.

· Conducting open-source research and media monitoring, as well as leveraging Expert Network to provide timely and insightful responses to client inquiries on a broad range of Cyber/ Information issues.

· Participating in client calls to support sales/ relationship management efforts.

Key Skills and Competencies

· Previous experience writing in a business setting/ for a business audience on cybersecurity, information security, data privacy/ protection and related topics.

· Experience conducting open-source research, leveraging information in the public domain, as well as other research tools; understanding of research methodology.

· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; understanding of journalistic or analytic tradecraft.

· Excellent writing, research, briefing, and editorial capabilities—experience with working to production deadlines.

· Exceptional oral and written communication skills

· Strong intellectual curiosity, creativity, drive, and desire to develop deep understanding of the risk landscape across other risk categories:

– Geopolitical

– Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance

– Safety and Security Risk

· Ability to work collaboratively and effectively across multiple internal teams and stakeholders; flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements is critical

Qualifications

· 2-4+ years relevant work experience of producing research/ content on cybersecurity issues in a fast-paced environment with regular production deadlines or equivalent cybersecurity training is a must

· Additional cybersecurity/ information security certificates or educational experience a plus

· Previous qualitative research and report-writing experience in a professional domain or equivalent cybersecurity training required; experience with quantitative research methodologies preferred

· Prior experience conducting interviews a plus

· Ability to function in a start-up atmosphere, comfort with ambiguity and change

Additional Requirements

· Candidate must be authorized to work in the US. Role will be based in NYC, Boston, or Austin.

· Candidates will be required to provide a writing sample.

Schedule:

Supplemental Pay:

  • Bonus pay
