Full Job Description
The Senior Digital Forensic Examiner role is an expert-level position supervised by the Forensic Manager or appointed Manager and within the Forensic Department. The position supports forensic data acquisition, verification, documentation, investigation, and reporting.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Information/ Cyber Security/ Digital Forensics field or equivalent course training experience.
Essential Duties:
Exhibit a high degree of knowledge in e-Discovery and Forensic concepts:
- Understand the Electronic Discovery Reference Model
- Understand how to handle electronic media and information
- Understand Forensic Collection
Understand, achieve, and maintain a high level of technical proficiency:
- Conduct & manage forensically defensible acquisitions of computers, cellphones, and other electronic devices, using a wide range of software (e.g. EnCase, FTK, Cellebrite, Axiom, X1, FEC, MacQuisition, Recon, and Tableau)
- Conduct Forensic analysis and reporting of collected data
- Consult with clients and attorneys regarding forensic collection strategies
Ensure high quality, timely delivery to meet and/or exceed internal and external client expectations:
- Perform quality control on all projects.
Understand, prioritize, and demonstrate proficiency in other vital areas:
- Escalate issues internally, as appropriate, to achieve timely resolution and client satisfaction
- Understand and complete all documentation for project tracking, status, quality assurance, reporting, and billing
- Create accurate and timely billing summaries for project invoicing
- Examination and preparation of digital evidence for data processing and/or client deliverables
- Provide coverage support
Other Duties:
- Train new forensic team members
- Maintain and increase industry-specific knowledge
- Assist in the upgrade of forensic software
- Work additional hours as required to meet deadlines
- Oversee evidence intake, including but not limited to; evidence handling, tracking, and storing
- Other duties as assigned

Physical, Visual, Mental Requirements:
- Sit for prolonged periods
- Communicate with others, in person and via phone, email and correspondence.
- Bend and stoop, such as required to maintain files
- Manipulate files, envelopes, folders, papers
- Read and analyze various detailed materials, taking appropriate action as a result
- Concentrate on detailed materials, on paper or computer screen, often for extended periods of time
- Switch flexibly from task to task, without losing time or accuracy
- Operate necessary office equipment, including computer, scanner, and copier.
